Durata launches integrated powertrain solution for critical infrastructure

Durata has launched PowerCore a new integrated powertrain solution designed to help data centre operators and critical infrastructure providers overcome supply chain constraints and accelerate project delivery.

The modular solution combines ring main units (RMU), transformers, switchgear, UPS systems and busbar infrastructure into a single factory-built system, reducing on-site construction time by up to 60 per cent while simplifying deployment

Designed, fabricated and integrated by Durata’s specialist teams, the PowerCore is manufactured from the company’s 80,000 sq ft facility in the North East of England. By bringing design, fabrication, mechanical and electrical integration together under one roof, Durata removes the complexity of managing multiple suppliers and coordinating separate delivery schedules.

“The biggest challenge facing many critical infrastructure projects today is getting power infrastructure at scale delivered quickly enough,” said Lewis Cobb, Global Director of AI Factories and Modular Data Centres at Durata.

“Operators are often dealing with multiple suppliers, lengthy procurement processes and complex on-site integration programmes. Our PowerCore solution addresses that directly by delivering the complete power stack as a single coordinated system, configured to the customer’s exact requirements and ready for rapid deployment. Because we’re not tied to a single manufacturer, we can also help customers select the most appropriate technologies and vendors for their specific application.”

Engineered, fabricated and tested before deployment

Unlike traditional approaches that require equipment to be sourced and integrated from multiple vendors on site, Durata delivers a complete, factory-built solution that has been engineered, fabricated and tested before deployment. This reduces programme risk, improves quality assurance and accelerates commissioning.

The offering remains vendor agnostic, allowing customers to select equipment from leading OEM manufacturers across UPS, generator, switchgear and battery technologies.

Drawing on established relationships across the critical power supply chain, Durata works with customers to identify the most appropriate technologies and manufacturers for their specific operational, geographic and performance requirements. This independent approach ensures solutions are driven by project needs rather than vendor preference, while still providing the simplicity of a single delivery partner.

Designed for modern digital infrastructure, the scalable PowerCore solutions support power densities ranging from 10kW to 150kW per rack, making them well suited to the growing demands of AI, hyperscale and high-performance computing environments.

Each PowerCore can operate as a standalone system or be deployed as part of a larger modular infrastructure strategy, enabling operators to scale capacity as demand grows.

“Today’s data centre operators need more than an equipment supplier, they need a partner capable of managing the entire power infrastructure programme,” added Lewis.

“We take responsibility for the engineering, fabrication, integration, logistics and delivery. That gives customers greater certainty, reduces project complexity and helps bring critical infrastructure online faster.”

The launch of PowerCore builds on Durata’s existing modular infrastructure capabilities, which include its AI:20 modular data centre platform and bespoke solutions for enterprise, edge and hyperscale deployments across the UK, Europe and North America.
