Electrician

Role Purpose 

The Electrician will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across Durata’s critical infrastructure and data centre projects, working to the highest standards of safety and quality. We welcome applications from newly qualified electricians looking to build their career in a fast-growing sector, as well as experienced electricians looking for their next challenge. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Install, test and commission electrical systems including power, lighting, distribution and containment, in line with project drawings and specifications. 
  • Work safely and effectively on site, complying with all relevant health & safety regulations, method statements, and risk assessments. 
  • Carry out inspection and testing in accordance with BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations). 
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and specifications accurately. 
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently and safely. 
  • Liaise with site supervisors, project managers and other trades to ensure works are coordinated and delivered to programme. 
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including test results and certification. 
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard of quality and workmanship. 

Desirable Experience 

  • Experience working on data centre, critical power or mission critical environments. 
  • Experience with generator, UPS or battery storage system installations. 
  • Supervisory or team leading experience (for more experienced applicants).

Skills and Experience 

  • Valid ECS/JIB card appropriate to your level of experience. 
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671) — essential. 
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing — desirable. 
  • Full UK driving licence — essential. 
  • Good understanding of health & safety requirements on site. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team. 

Qualifications 

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent) is required. 
  • Newly qualified applicants with a completed apprenticeship are welcome to apply. 
  • Additional certifications (18th Edition, 2391, CSCS/ECS) are advantageous and will be considered relative to experience level.
