Join Our Team

Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

You will be the financial backbone of our projects across the Group, working with our project team ensuring they remain profitable, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards of excellence..

About Durata

Durata is a leading provider of critical data centre infrastructure solutions, specialising in modular data centres, critical power systems and legacy optimisation services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business.

The Role

As a Senior QS at Durata, you won’t just be crunching numbers in a back office. You’ll be deeply embedded in the project lifecycle, managing costs from initial feasibility through to final accounts. You will act as the bridge between our site teams, subcontractors, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Management: Working with our Projects team, you will be required to examine the financial performance of multiple critical infrastructure projects, ensuring budgets are met and margins are protected.
  • Procurement: Manage subcontractor enquiries, analysing quotes, and assisting with the appointment of specialist trades.
  • Valuations & Variations: Prepare monthly valuations and track project variations rigorously to ensure all additional works are captured and billed.
  • Contract Administration: Manage NEC or JCT contracts (as applicable), ensuring all notices and contractual obligations are met by all parties.
  • Cost Reporting: Provide regular CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) reports to the Project team and to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Final Accounts: Negotiate and settle final accounts with both clients and subcontractors efficiently.

What We’re Looking For

We value precision and proactive problem-solving. Because we work in “mission-critical” environments, attention to detail is non-negotiable. As a growing business, we require team members to be self-starters who work hard and are eager to play their part in the business’ success.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying (experience in electrical, mechanical, or power infrastructure is a major plus).
  • Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline. RICS accreditation is preferred but not essential.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project management software.
  • Contract Knowledge: Solid understanding of JCT and NEC4 contract suites.
  • Soft Skills: A sharp negotiator with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Why Join Durata?

  • Innovation: Work on cutting-edge data centre projects predominantly in the UK and Europe, with plans to expand globally into the very near future.
  • Growth: We are expanding rapidly, offering clear pathways for career progression into Senior QS or Commercial Management roles to support the growth of Durata.
