The last 12 months have been nothing short of transformative for Durata.

The specialists in resilient data centre infrastructure and critical power solutions have accomplished  group expansion, talent acquisition and global reach, ensuring a course for continued future growth, particularly in the booming AI sector.

From senior leadership restructuring and a doubled workforce to strategic developments in the US market and the launch of a revolutionary AI Factory, Durata’s momentum shows no signs of slowing as it looks excitedly toward 2026

Senior management in place

The foundation for Durata’s explosive growth was cemented by a significant executive restructure designed to inject a wealth of expertise for international growth and large scale, complex projects.

Following the incorporation of the Durata Group, the parent company to Durata Global and Durata Fabrication,  John McGee was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO)  and Alison McGee taking the reins as Group Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Reece Ingham was appointed as Finance Director, Kate White as Marketing Director and Andrew Nicholson as Commercial Director.

Lewis Cobb has, meanwhile, been promoted from Head of Data Centre Projects to Global Director – Modular AI Factories & Data Centres, and Omar Yousef continues as Project Director.

Doubled workforce and talent investment

The executive appointments reflect a broader, company-wide commitment to talent acquisition.

Durata has successfully doubled its workforce over the past year and continues to actively invest in talent.

Other key appointments during this period have included Kieran Fawcett (Building Information Management Specialist), Karen Robinson (Customer Relationship Manager), Sophia Bibby as (Operations & Compliance Assistant),  Thomas Large and Naeem Ghani (Accounts Assistants), Nicola Willet (People & Culture Manager) and Joseph Fraser (Marketing Assistant).

This commitment to securing the future of this rapidly expanding sector by investing in its people is central to Durata’s growth strategy.

Strengthening Global Presence

In a strategic move strengthening its international reach, the company announced its expansion into the US with a new office in Atlanta, Georgia.

This move included the establishment of a US business entity, demonstrating a commitment to providing ‘boots on the ground’ project deployment across the Atlantic to better serve a rapidly growing client base.

“With our new US operations, we’re strengthening Durata’s international footprint and enhancing our ability to deliver complex, high-impact projects.” said Group CEO John McGee.

“Our focus remains on innovation, operational excellence, and growing a talented team that can lead the way in the global critical infrastructure market.”

Durata Fabrication launched

Driven by the surging global demand for data storage and critical power solutions – further fuelled by the increasing reliance on AI – Durata made a major strategic acquisition.

To meet this unprecedented need and streamline its supply chain Durata purchased Tolley Fabrication in County Durham.

The newly formed Durata Fabrication entity significantly enhances manufacturing capabilities.

While modular data centres have become a large  proportion of the workload, the fabrication company has expanded into new sectors such as modular nuclear reactors and increased its workload in the marine, offshore and renewables sectors.

Central to this increased efficiency is the significant and ongoing investment in advanced technology, including additional CNC machinery and robotics.

This investment allows for pinpoint accuracy and repetition of components, ensuring robust product quality, which was instrumental in the recent launch of the new flagship product, AI:20.

The launch of AI:20

A pivotal moment for both Durata and the industry was the official launch of the new AI:20 solution at the prestigious DCD>Connect|London event.

The AI:20 is a fully modular, pre-fabricated AI factory, offering a scalable, flexible and ultra-efficient solution to meet the explosive demand for high-performance computing globally.

As explained by Lewis Cobb, Durata’s Global Director – Modular AI Factories & Data Centres the name reflects its purpose: ‘AI’ for artificial intelligence, powered by an impressive 20 megawatts (MW) of compute capacity.

The solution is a complete turnkey package, where 75% of the design is pre-engineered, leaving 25% open for individual client customisation of features like UPS systems and cooling technologies.

This modular design allows for phased deployment in just 12-15 months, significantly reducing lead time compared to traditional construction.

Proudly engineered in the North-East, every module is fabricated in-house at Durata Fabrication’s 80,000 sq. ft facility and shipped globally via Teesside’s Freeport.

All over the world

The last year has seen Durata’s operational footprint expand dramatically, with projects, site surveys and client and supplier consultations successfully delivered globally including Belize, Berlin, Miami, Frankfurt, Budapest and Taiwan, to name a few.

This global delivery has been supported by a strong commitment to industry presence and networking. Durata has showcased at key events, such as NVIDIA GTC AI conference  in San Jose, DCW London, DCD>Connect Madrid and Datacloud Global Congress in Cannes.

The launch of AI:20 dominated Durata’s Tech Showcase at DCD>Connect London.

Crucially …

As Durata enters 2026, its strong leadership, expanding global footprint, dedicated and experienced team, in-house fabrication facilities  and commitment to AI-driven innovation solidify its position as a trusted expert to deliver critical infrastructure projects with confidence and dependability across the globe.
